Brainerd Minnesota Lakes area is a regional shopping, industrial, and tourism center. There are many nearby resorts that take advantage of the many nearby lakes including Gull Lake. The Mississippi River flows right through Brainerd with five road/highway bridges and one railroad bridge crossing it. There is also the Paul Bunyan Trail, a bowling alley in Brainerd, Movie theater in Baxter, mini golf courses north of Brainerd and golf courses, Paul Bunyan/This old farm east of Brainerd towards Garrison. Walkable Community Workshop on Monday October 27, 2014


The Brainerd Walkable Bikeable City Committee (WBCC) will be hosting a Walkable Community Workshop on Monday October 27, 2014. The workshop is from 5 p.m. – to 7 p.m. at a location in Brainerd at Crow Wing County Land Services. There is also a workshop from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. for all out county communities and organizations interested in walkability.

New office for Brainerd Lakes Ecomomic Development Corporation

BLAEDC has moved out of the office under the Brainerd Historic Tower and into a new office on the west end of the Tyrol Hills Center in Brainerd.

From "Sept 9, 2014 EVENING UPDATE: After a second round of testing water City wide, Brainerd Public Utilities and Minnesota Department of Health have determined our water system is once again safe. The current boil order has been lifted, and we have started advising customers that they can once again drink and cook with the City's water supply. However, chlorination will continue temporarily."

New Immunization Laws Take Effect September 1, 2014

Changes to Minnesota’s Immunization Law will take effect September 1, 2014 just in time for the upcoming school year.
The immunization changes were announced last fall by the Minnesota
Department of Health and affect children enrolled in public and private schools, child care and earlychildhood programs.
