10 am - 2 pm - Armory open house will highlight Brainerd's Military History in the Colonel Miller Room and the Regimental Room. Our display includes the 34th Tank Company starting in 1936, 94th Tank Battalion in WWII, Mobilization for Korean War, and Deployments to Iraq. The Camp Ripley Military Museum staff will be set up in the Regimental Room with a WWII display of US and Japanese uniforms and equipment as worn in Bataan. Walter Straka, the last survivor of Bataan, 194th Tank Battalion will be in the Regimental Room from 11am - 1 pm.
4 pm - Flag Day Ceremony at the Veteran's Memorial (near courthouse). Social hour at The Elks Lodge to follow.
7 pm - Downtown Brainerd History Walk. Meet at Brainerd Public Library (rain or shine) a few minutes prior to scheduled walk. There are no stairs or steep grades. Please wear appropriate walking shoes. We’ll be walking about 1.4 miles.
